Monks Beyond Religion is a group of monks and nuns who wish to reach across religious boundaries to forge connections of heart. They join together with His Holiness to perform humanitarian activities and to promote peace.

All over the world, people believe that their own way of approaching God is the only way. The brothers and sisters in the Monks Beyond Religion have risen above religious boundaries despite disapproval from others to unify in peace and harmony.

A Message from the Monks Beyond Religion

While we are from many countries and many sects, we have only one wish - service. Each of us has a different path to service. You, too, have different wishes and prayers and different paths to service. Different paths…one purpose...service. As monks and nuns, our most unique service is prayer. Although we have different approaches to prayer, we recognize the Unity of All and we wish to offer our prayers as one voice to grow Peace in the World. Some of us wish to serve your prayers in the monthly Fire Ceremony. Each month we hold a Fire Ceremony to purify the wishes and prayers of people from around the world. We invite you to join us. The donations from your Prayer Tablets will be given to His Holiness Cealo for his Journey of Compassion. Our deepest wish is for World Peace. Let us all take the next step together and move forward towards Peace.

Fire Ceremony

On the 18th of each month, the traditional Japanese Fire Ceremony is performed by the members of the Monks Beyond Religion in Japan. The Fire Ceremony is an ancient Japanese ceremony to purify the prayers of the people. You may write any prayer or wish on a Prayer Tablet. The monks will pray over your tablets and then burn them in a sacred fire. Burning the tablets in the fire purifies the prayers before they ascend.

Prayer Tablets

You may request as many tablets as you wish and submit them at anytime. When you are ready, simply write your name, your wish, message, or prayer on the front side of the tablet. You may also use a separate Prayer Tablet to RECEIVE your wish and another Prayer Tablet RELEASE as these are provided different chants and prayers. Once you have finished writing on your Prayer Tablets, mail them to:

When Father Andrew receives your Prayer Tablets, he places them on a special altar, adding his prayers to your own. Father Andrew mails the Prayer Tablets to Japan on the first of each month. Any tablets received after the 1st will be held until the following month.

He then sends the Prayer Tablets to the monks in Japan, who hold the traditional Fire Ceremony. This is their service to the people and they do not charge for their offering. In Japan, the traditional donation for this type of ceremony is approximately $50. They have asked that you make a “Donation of Heart” to the Foundation for Global Harmony, USA, because they wish to support the work of His Holiness Cealo.
